为进一步促进我校与美国南犹他大学的中美广告合作办学项目，加强同学们的专业素养以及国际化视野， 南犹他大学人文与社会科学学院策略传播系Jonathan Holiman教授和Karisa Rosander老师于2018年10月22日至11月9日在我校实训中心多媒体录播教室为艺传学院中美广告学专业2017级和2018级的同学进行为期三周的专业课程讲授。我校广告教研室主任黄晓薇老师和熊洁芬老师作为中方助教共同参与授课。
Jonathan教授以“批判性思维”作为对2018级学生的主要授课内容。从对人类思维的简单引入到批判性思维的深入理解，授课中Jonathann教授会通过提出多个开放式命题来激发学生激烈的课堂讨论或频繁的微信互动，极大地促进了学生专业学习的热情及英语口语能力的提升。与此同时，有良好的中文能力的Karisa老师也会在课堂上积极地为同学们翻译专业性较强的英文词汇及术语，帮助学生更好理解课程内容及关键知识点，使得同学们能够在Karisa老师的帮助下积极地与Jonathan教授互动，课堂气氛十分活跃。课后，同学们继续向Jonathann教授和Karisa老师请教咨询关于在SUU学习的要求及概况，表现出对赴美留学的极大热情和关注。
Jonathan教授对2017级学生的主要授课内容是社会化媒体。如何利用社会化媒体处理人际关系，媒体只是工具，内容是王道，传播及关系。Jonathan教授将全班分为10多个小组，每个小组确定一个话题。并在接下来的三周内通过制作各种主题的视频，在微博、微信等各种社交媒体中发布视频内容，并在课堂上以Presentation形式，来巩固社会化媒体的相关内容。幽默风趣的讲授风格使Jonathan教授拉近了与中国学生之间的距离，也让同学们越来越喜欢他。
